If you are here, you may be looking into counseling for yourself and/or you and your partner. I am a therapist in New Jersey with over 20 years of experience working with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems and other mental health issues.


During the pandemic I made the decision to transition my practice to an online based mental health practice. If you are considering online therapy, you may have some questions about it. I will address some of them here but I also offer a FREE 15 minute introductory session for prospective clients to talk more about it.

Is Online Therapy Effective?

Although there's been a rapid explosion of online therapy companies and clinicians, it's actually not new. Teletherapy has been around for over 20 years. With the onslaught of devices that let you access a mental health professional from anywhere, and the onset of the Pandemic, mental health and online therapy are in the mainstream. In many ways, it is helping to take the stigma out of mental health care treatment. The ease and convenience of scheduling a therapy appointment from wherever you are is a huge draw for people, many of whom are seeking therapy for the first time.


We know times have changed due to health risks, work routines, family life and time constraints. It takes the average person approximately 2-3 hours to see their mental health professional face-to-face for an hour.


Many have found that the ease and flexibility of online counseling makes it easier, less stressful and more in keeping with their life situation. This doesn't mean you have to compromise quality mental health care when you work with a professional remotely. 

A Solution To The Many Obstacles Of Getting Therapy


  • First, It solves the problem of the distance between clients and licensed mental health professionals   

  • You get the help you need without the extra time it takes to travel 

  • If you travel frequently for work, your counselor is still available while you are away

  • Health issues may limit your ability to travel

  • You and your partner live in different locations

  • Online counseling is flexible and can often be more affordable.

  • Perhaps most importantly, I see online counseling as an opportunity for people who wouldn't otherwise reach out for help to do so.

So How Do I know If It Will Work For Me?

Studies have shown that online therapy is very effective for many mental health issues. One study in 2014 showed that online treatment was "just as effective as  face-to-face treatment for common mental health disorders". That said online therapy isn't meant for people with severe mental health issues such as suicidal intent, psychosis, etc. 

So, to answer the question about it working for you the only real answer is you have to try it. And just like traditional therapy, you have to connect and feel comfortable with the therapist you work with. 

Why Work With Me

For over 20 years I have worked with people dealing with a wide range of situations and problems. Anxiety, depression, couples counseling, life changes, transitions, etc. I have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Cerification in Expressive Arts, Journaling, Mindfulness and advanced training in parenting and relationship building.


I use my training and my experience as a stepping-stone. It's a first step. Active and compassionate listening are first and foremost in my ability to help you. 


Many times people are going through a present situation where they need to be heard, seen and learn some mindful problem solving tools. Maybe your confidence has taken a dive or your relationships are faltering. Life is hard! I've listed a few possibilities but I know that everyone's situation is different. My goal is to help make yours a little easier no matter what you are facing.
